DECEMBER 2023 PRAYER UPDATE

Ask God to provide a multi-function student activity bus to safely transport students.

Thousands of miles logged.  Thousands of memories made.  If a vehicle could talk, Cornerstone Christian Academy’s student activity bus would have some stories to tell!

Those of us who have had the opportunity to drive it or travel in it could tell some stories, too.  Our bus has carried teams all over the state and has taken students on trips to Wisconsin, Michigan, Indiana, Ohio, and Tennessee.  From the seats of that bus, we have prayed together, celebrated together, sung together, cried together, and shared life together.  Community has been built, and discipleship has taken place.  Our 2009 Chevy Express Starcraft MFSAB (multi-function student activity bus) is a gift from the hand of God, and it has served us well.  We are praying that God will extend its life a few more years.

With the enrollment growth CCA has experienced, we have more students participating in co- and extra-curricular activities, and increased transportation needs.  We have been praying for several years that God would provide for this need.  Would you join us in praying that God would meet this need – even this year?  The winter athletics and activities seasons host more than a dozen teams and activity groups who will need to travel around central Illinois and beyond.  We are grateful for the thousands of hours of discipleship that have taken place in parents’ vehicles over the years, too.  We anticipate that, even with a second bus, the need for parent volunteers will still be great.  Our hope is to ease that burden and to ensure that school-owned vehicles provide safe and reliable modes of transportation as the Lord “watches over our going out and coming in.”

Specifically, we are praying that God would provide a new (2022 or newer model year) gas-powered, 14-passenger, white MFSAB.  The MFSAB looks similar to “people mover” shuttle buses (think airport or hotel shuttles) but is equipped with rear and roof emergency exits as well as alarm systems that are unique to school buses.  While a mid- or full-sized school bus seems desirable due to greater seating capacity, the MFSAB is more accessible due to different operator qualifications and lower cost.  The 2022 and newer model years meet current NTSB standards for transporting students.  New MFSABs range in cost, but average list price is $100,000.  So, we are praying specifically, and we are praying BIG!  We invite you to join us in that prayer.

May He continue to carry us Forward in Faith!
